With over 10 years experience in the beauty industry, Michaella has gained a reputation as a truly iconic facialist and tanning expert. Appearing regularly in leading international publications of Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, SheerLuxe, Vogue, Refinery29 and Violet Grey, she is the go-to for many celebrities including Dame Helen Mirren, Naomie Harris, Olivia Munn, Noomie Repace, Nick Grimshaw and Frankie Bridge to name a few.
Here she tells us some of her insider secrets... and why keeping it simple works!
On skincare…
When you think of MALIN+GOETZ, what comes to mind?
Simple and effective skincare aimed and designed to suit all skin types including the most sensitive of skins.
If you were going to a deserted island, which MALIN+GOETZ product would you bring?
It would have to be advanced renewal moisturizer for its light weight super nourishing benefits that reboot the skin's hydration levels by locking in goodness and feeding the skin with essential stem cells & fatty acids.
What other skincare products/other brands do you absolutely love?
My kit consists of about 500 products at any time! My recent favs would be MALIN+GOETZ facial cleansing oil, Sisley Black Rose Mask, DCL Peel Pads, Alumier Glow Peel, BioEffects EGF Serum, Weleda Skinfood.... there are so many!
When do you choose to use MALIN+GOETZ? On which clients and why?
MALIN+GOETZ is a part of my general day to day facial kit, I normally reach for facial cleansing oil to kick start my client's facial. With my clients that have sensitive skin and allergies to particular ingredients, I know I can always rely on MALIN+GOETZ to answer their skin issues and give them great results.
Any celeb clients you can tell us about!?
Nick Grimshaw really takes care of his skin daily, Frankie Bridge has conquered her oily breakouts by treating her skin regularly and persistent with her daily products.
On life in the UK…
What neighborhood do you live in?
I have always lived down in Kent after growing up in Ramsgate, two years ago my husband and I moved 10 mins away to a cute seaside town called Minnis Bay which is just outside of Margate.
What's your favorite local coffee shop?
I am lucky enough to get a coffee with my girl friends a few mornings a week we always head to Smiths Coffee & Wellness bar in Broadstairs for a gossip and catch up.
What's your favorite neighbourhood restaurant?
We don’t have a huge selection of great restaurants locally, but our favourites would be The Dog at Wingham or The Fordwich Arms - both cosy pubs with amazing food.
What does your home smell like?
I am obsessed with scents whether it’s my facial room, home or car! The scent I have at home right now is Gucci Incense Sticks in Freesia, they smell unbelievable and leave a lasting scent all day!
What is your favorite Sunday activity?
I try to keep Sundays free to spend with Rick, and my family and friends. A trip out on my in-laws boat in Kent with lunch is definitely one of my favourite chilled days.
If you have a dog, where is his favorite place to walk?
I don’t have a dog, but Rick and I walk along the local beaches for down time and fresh air, sometimes with a bag of chips or an ice cream!
What's your biggest vice?
I have a few of those!! But probably would be chocolate straight out of the fridge.
On travel…
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
There are so many places I would love to visit but if I could choose today it would probably be dreamy Maldives for the ultimate relaxation and quality time with Rick.
What's your favorite hotel in the world?
The Mandarin Oriental at Hyde Park has everything a hotel could offer with the added bonus of a fantastic personal service, a great location and beautiful rooms.
What's your favorite park in the world?
It has to be Central Park, my husband and I share some great memories from our trip to New York.
